2020 One City Marathon – Newport News

Runners will begin in the stunning setting of Newport News Park where they will enjoy the allure of spring in a landscape as historical as it is beautiful. Courses include the full marathon, half marathon, relay, 8k, and kid’s fun run.
Afterward, racers and the public can attend the One City, One Celebration at Superblock (Washington Ave., between 26th & 27th Streets).
One City Marathon Runs
One City Marathon
The full marathon is a 26.2 mile running tour of Newport News. Runners begin in Newport News Park and follow the course to the Newport News Victory Arch. The One City Marathon is a flat, fast, point to point course and also a Boston Qualifier.
Half Marathon
The event’s newest addition is a 13.1 mile half marathon.
Marathon Relay
The marathon relay allows runners to form teams of 2-4 participants, split the distance, and run the 26.2 miles. The relay will follow the same course as the full marathon and will have three exchange points along the way.
Maritime 8K
For a shorter distance run or walk, the Maritime 8K is a good option. Runners will begin their journey in the downtown area of Newport News, venturing around the downtown area and finishing at the Newport News Victory Arch.
Nautical Mile Fun Run
Kids of all ages get to run an actual nautical mile. An event the whole family will love.
One City, One Celebration

One Celebration at Superblock (Washington Ave., between 26th & 27th Streets)
The One City, One Celebration will be held on March 1, 2020 at the Superblock from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Enjoy entertainment, food from food vendors, interactive activities, and runner relaxation area featuring free runner massages, and post-race recovery area.
Newport News’ only craft brewery, Tradition Brewing Company will offer the exclusive One City Gose, the official beer of the One City Marathon.
All Marathon, Marathon Relay, Half Marathon, and Maritime 8K runners will receive one complimentary runner food item to redeem from food vendors, and two complimentary beers from Tradition Brewing Company(21+). There will also be food, and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase.
One City, One Celebration is free and open to the public.
